Southern Cross Travel Insurance has appointed Anita Samu as Chief Underwriting Officer and Greg Sparling as Chief Legal and Risk Officer for its New Zealand and Australian operations.

Ms Samu, most recently IAG’s EM product in New Zealand, returned to Southern Cross to take up the newly created role this month, based in Auckland, according to her LinkedIn. She was Southern Cross Health Society head of planning and decision support from 2018 to 2020.

Mr Sparling’s move follows leadership roles at Resolution Life (Australia and New Zealand), Cigna Life Insurance New Zealand and ANZ Bank New Zealand. He has also worked with private law practices and the public sector in New Zealand and Britain.
