Underwriting agency co-founder dies
Harry Dickinson Jr, who along with his parents founded Interruption Underwriting Agencies, has died.
Mr Dickinson, who was in his 60s, had been unwell for some years but is fondly remembered by former colleagues.
Interruption Underwriting Agencies was formed in 1987 by Mr Dickinson and his parents, Harry Snr, who died at the age of 90 in 2008, and Margaret Dickinson, who survives her son.
The business was fully acquired by Calliden in 2009 before becoming part of Steadfast in 2014. It now trades as IUA.
Underwriting manager Christopher Connolly told insuranceNEWS.com.au that the family had “revolutionised business interruption cover in Australia”.
“Harry could see the bigger picture,” he said. “His creativity to grow the business was incredible. He had so many friends and everybody loved him.”
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11.30am at Leura Memorial Gardens in the Blue Mountains, NSW.
