The Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) will hold its 2022 Sydney expo on Friday at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

UAC GM William Legge tells insuranceNEWS.com.au this year’s covid-compliant quota of 80 exhibitors has almost been filled, and 300 brokers have already pre-registered.

“It looks like we’ll be as full as we can be,” he said, noting that before pandemic restrictions the event attracted more than 500 brokers and around 150 exhibitors. "We are reassured and happy with the numbers in view of the circumstances.”

Mr Legge notes some states are still constrained by border restrictions but says representatives in other states will attend on their behalf. He is also pleased a number of new UAC members have already signed up to be 2022 exhibitors.

Encouraging those wishing to enter the underwriting industry to “come and have a look,” he says the sector is “enormously strong” with many underwriters currently “happily overworked”.

The event will take place in the Maritime and Grand Ballrooms, Mezzanine Level, at 161 Sussex Street.
