The Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) will host its first Christchurch seminar and expo on August 29.

The event, from 2pm at the Rydges hotel in Latimer Square, will start with a seminar by Paul Ash, Director of New Zealand’s National Cyber Policy Office.

The expo from 3.30pm to 6.30pm gives brokers an opportunity to view UAC member products and services.

UAC has held expos in Auckland for the past two years as part of its New Zealand expansion effort.

“We want to increase our members there,” GM William Legge told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “Our hope is to have two [expos] in New Zealand every year – one in Auckland and one elsewhere. Wellington will have to come into the equation as well.”

Mr Legge says there are 10 UAC members in New Zealand, primarily based in and around Auckland.
