UAC offers networking chance for NZ brokers
The Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) will host a free seminar and expo for New Zealand brokers next month, providing an opportunity to meet local and Australian underwriters.
The UAC-Finity Seminar and UAC Expo – part professional development and part networking exercise – will be held at Auckland’s SkyCity.
During the seminar on market trends, Finity Consulting’s Sydney-based Principal Susie Amos and Auckland Consultant Anita Samu will use insurance statistics “not previously seen in the public domain” to analyse premium and loss ratio trends for property, liability and motor.
UAC Chairman Heath Amber says the combined event is part of a strategy to provide members with professional development and let New Zealand members spruik their products to local brokers.
Mr Amber also expects Australian-based agencies at the event.
“Our goal is to enable underwriting agencies and brokers to connect at UAC-sponsored events,” he said.
The event moves towards the UAC’s long-term goal of becoming a truly trans-Tasman organisation.
Earlier this month insuranceNEWS.com.au reported the council’s appointment of New Zealand underwriter Mike Street to the board.
UAC also has Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Hong Kong in its sights.
The seminar is on October 14 from 1.30-3pm, followed by the expo from 3-5pm and drinks from 4-6pm. Click here to register or for more information.
