UAC NZ seminar puts focus on cyber threat
Cyber security in New Zealand is the focus of an Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) seminar in Auckland next month.
National Cyber Policy Office (NCPO) Director Paul Ash will discuss the issue’s importance, the Government’s approach and how the insurance industry can assist.
Mr Ash has led the NCPO since it was established in 2012 to co-ordinate the nation’s cyber-security policy. He was previously a career diplomat.
UAC GM William Legge says Mr Ash was asked to repeat a popular presentation he gave to brokers and members at the inaugural UAC Christchurch seminar and expo last August.
The Auckland presentation will be followed by an expo, where UAC members will highlight their specialist products and services.
“This is a great chance for our New Zealand-based members to interact directly with brokers, and several Australian-based members will also exhibit,” Mr Legge said.
The free events are at the Crowne Plaza Auckland on May 11, with the seminar starting at 2pm and the expo from 3.30-6.30pm.
