UAC extends membership rights across the world
The Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) and the London-based Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA) have become reciprocal members.
UAC is now an honorary member of the MGAA, and the MGAA an affiliate member of UAC.
UAC GM William Legge says the arrangement follows MGAA director Charles Manchester’s attendance at the Australian group’s Sydney expo last month and earlier negotiations in London by UAC immediate past chairman Heath Amber.
“UAC and MGAA have likeminded goals of increasing the focus on member education programs and representing our memberships at industry and regulatory levels,” Mr Legge said.
The tie-up follows an agreement announced last month giving UAC reciprocal membership rights with the American Association of Managing General Agents.
Mr Legge says the peak-body agreements provide UAC members with networking capabilities “across a major slice of the global insurance market”.
