Tributes paid to BJS broker
Rod Luxford, Senior Account Manager at BJS Insurance Brokers, has died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
His friend of 30 years and former business partner John Barker says Mr Luxford was “an incredibly loyal man with lots of close business friends”.
Mr Luxford was a manager at Club Marine through the 1970s before moving into broking in the early 1980s.
He established his own broking business in Dandenong, called Advantage Insurance. In 1999 he purchased Frankston business Jonstan Insurance and formed Advantage Jonstan Insurance Brokers, selling this to BJS Insurance in 2007.
BJS MD Bill de Vos says Mr Luxford’s “enthusiasm and tenacity for the business will be missed. Rod had a long career in our industry and was particularly passionate about aviation insurances, but would equally be involved in any new business opportunities.
“We offer condolences to Rod’s wife Christine and their daughters Amanda and Nicole, as well as to Rod’s extended family and friends.”
