TravelCard’s Comprehensive Leisure Domestic insurance cover has won consumer group Choice’s top rating in a review of 57 products.

Choice rated TravelCard’s policy at 78%, the highest achieved in the review of domestic insurance products. The score is based on Choice’s assessment of what the policy covers, price, how easy it is to understand and buy, and how well the insurer handles customer complaints.

TravelCard was given a strong rating of 83% in the “cover score” category, which rates policy benefits, including cancellation, additional expenses, baggage and rental car cover. It also excelled in the “price score” assessment category, with a rating of 78%.

Travelcard was awarded the Mansfield Award for Claims Excellence in the specialty claims category earlier this year.

The insurer is part of PassportCard Group, and launched in Australia last year. It is underwritten by Hollard.
