Tasmanian takes up presidency of AICLA

The Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA) has elected a new board, with Tasmanian adjuster Michael Cooke being named the new president.

The institute’s AGM last week also elected Stephen Kwang of Singapore as Deputy Chairman.

CEO Tony Libke told insuranceNEWS.com.au that AICLA’s international division is continuing to enjoy strong growth, and the institute is close to finalising the program for its Asian claims convention in Bangkok in March.

He says the Asian event reflects strong interest following last year’s convention in Shanghai.

AICLA has also signed an agreement with the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance to continue the successful jointly run Sydney claims conventions for a further three years.

Michael Collins (SA) has been elected an executive member, Jaye Kumar (WA) is International Development Director and Michael Davies (SA) is the Education Director. Queensland-based CEO Tony Libke is secretary/treasurer.
