The Sydney Marine Discussion Group (SMDG) will hold its Christmas Party on Wednesday as it also looks forward to a buoyant year ahead.

The celebration will be held at Pier One from 4pm to 8pm, with organisers expecting about 100 people will attend, representing most of the NSW marine insurance industry.

SMDG is one of the oldest insurance groups in Australia, with origins going back to 1908 when the Council of Marine Underwriters sought to establish a market forum for the general sharing of knowledge and education of the industry.
