Survey feedback invited for Mansfield Award contenders
Brokers, insureds and service providers to the industry are invited to contribute to a survey that will help decide the annual Mansfield Awards for claims excellence.
The awards, run by LMI Group and launched in 2017, are named in honour of the British Lord Chief Justice who introduced the industry to the principle of utmost good faith some 250 years ago.
LMI Executive Chairman Allan Manning says in only five months this year’s winners will be celebrated.
“Therefore, it is timely to remind everyone that the survey component of the awards and claims ratings is already up and running,” he said.
Input for the awards can be provided through the LMI Claims Comparison website, which rates the service of Australian insurers by product class.
The Mansfield awards are made in the categories of Personal Lines, SME Property and Casualty, Corporate Property and Casualty and Specialty. A Gold Mansfield for overall claims excellence is presented to the insurer that scores highest overall.
“Improving claims service is, to me, the most fundamental way of rebuilding trust in our industry and we know that many insurers are keen to improve their ratings and their customer service which leads to greater retention, and lower costs,” Professor Manning says.
Last year an additional award, the Purple Mansfield, was introduced to recognise a company or individual that has gone above and beyond and provided service that has made a real difference to a client or a community.
