Suncorp's Spirit to Cure program delivers record fundraiser
Suncorp raised more than $2.4 million for cancer research and treatment through its Spirit to Cure program.
It resulted in more than 4000 contributions from Australian and New Zealand fundraisers. Suncorp Australia raised more than $1.94 million for Tour de Cure, while the New Zealand branch raised about $354,000 for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand and Cancer Research Trust New Zealand.
The initiative encouraged Suncorp staff to participate in physical events across the two countries, with the most popular event seeing more than 2640 members taking part in a 21km walk through major cities.
Other key events included a three-day, 300km bike ride through Byron, Gold Coast, and Brisbane, a 50km run around Suncorp Stadium, and a 5.3km walk through Christchurch’s Port Hills.
Suncorp also offered “Your Ks Your Way”, a virtual challenge for members to take part in the fundraiser.
The $2.4 million figure tops last year’s Spirit to Cure fundraiser, which raised upwards of $1.7 million.
