Suncorp’s Carmody steps into new EGM role
Suncorp’s Katherine Carmody has taken a new role as EGM Digital Insurer Transformation at the insurer.
Sydney-based Ms Carmody, who has been at Suncorp 18 years, was formerly EGM Digital Distribution.
Last year, Suncorp claimed an industry first by using artificial intelligence (AI) to crunch images of 9 million Australian homes and sort the image data to aid call centre interactions. It won “Best use of technology to revolutionise CX (customer experience)” at Ashton Media’s fifth The CX Awards, an accolade accepted by Ms Carmody on behalf of the team.
“Suncorp is leading the industry in technological innovation,” she said. “Scaling and delivering ideas is our superpower.”
Ms Carmody won the Salesforce Executive Leader of the Year award at the 2020 Women in Digital Awards, recognising her role in driving digital transformation.
She was acknowledged for leading the rollout of intelligent virtual assistants across major Suncorp brands, and praised as “an authentic and inspiring leader who forges high-performance teams”.
