Suncorp puts $5 million into Anzac centenary fund
Suncorp has donated $5 million to the Anzac Centenary Public Fund, enabling the restoration and enhancement of Queensland’s state war memorial in Anzac Square, Brisbane.
The money will also help other legacy projects in Queensland to teach future generations about the World War I’s impact on Australia.
Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Centenary of Anzac Dan Tehan announced the donation last week.
“With the support of contributors such as Suncorp, iconic state and territory Anzac centenary projects are being completed, enabling more people to participate in commemorative activities, and ensuring the legacy of our Anzacs lives on,” Mr Tehan said.
Suncorp Group CEO Michael Cameron says the insurer is dedicated to helping communities when they need it most.
