Suncorp joins Queensland hall of fame

Suncorp was among six organisations and individuals inducted into the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame last week, for its contribution to the state’s social and economic development.

CEO and MD Michael Cameron says he is delighted at the honour, which coincides with Suncorp’s centenary year.

“We are thrilled to join the ranks of some of the most influential figures and businesses in Queensland and Australia’s history,” he said.

Hall committee member Peter Little says inductees have demonstrated “innovation, heart and resilience that are typical Queensland traits. Their extraordinary stories of enterprise have helped shape the development of this great state, and they will forever be valued and remembered.”

The other inductees were Manuel Hornibrook, Rod Wylie, Margaret Mittelheuser, the North Australian Pastoral Company and Mincom.

Queensland University of Technology, the State Library of Queensland and the Queensland Library Foundation established the Hall of Fame in 2009.
