Suncorp brings statutory actuarial function in-house
Suncorp has employed an in-house appointed actuary, moving away from its previous outsourcing of the function.
Andrew Huszczo has taken on the two statutory roles of actuary of Suncorp’s licensed general insurance entities and of the general insurance group, which were previously outsourced to PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Mr Huszczo joins Suncorp from Allianz, where he spent 11 years as Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer.
He will sit within Suncorp’s commercial insurance division.
Suncorp Commercial Insurance CEO Anthony Day says bringing the role in-house was a strategic decision “about bringing the position closer to our strategies and objectives”.
“It also aligns with general insurance’s direction to simplify our business and further improve efficiencies.”
