Suncorp backs bid to tackle motor repair skills shortage
Suncorp has agreed a two-year sponsorship deal with the Australian Collision Industry Alliance, an advocacy body launched last year.
The non-profit industry body aims to combat a skills shortage and ageing workforce in the motor repair industry. It promotes careers in the collision repair sector to attract and retain staff.
Suncorp is the alliance’s first industry partner.
“This is an excellent step forward for the repair industry, recognising the significance of investing in developing current and future talent,” Suncorp EGM Motor Claims Customers Luke Whenman said.
The alliance focuses on co-ordinating industry stakeholders – including insurers, collision repairers, industry suppliers, dealer groups and manufacturers – in funding and driving programs to attract new talent.
“It’s great to see one of Australia’s major insurers getting behind the industry through this commitment,” alliance director Stuart Faid said. “It is a testament to their commitment to the long-term sustainability of the industry.”
