Suncorp Life has appointed two new EGMs to help manage its plans to double new life insurance business in the next three years.

The appointments are in line with the “simplified business model” being adopted by Suncorp Life, which will see the company focus on distribution to drive growth through the independent financial adviser market and through direct distribution to existing Suncorp customers.

Jordan Hawke, who has been GM Asteron for the past four years, has been promoted to EGM Asteron and will lead the drive into the independent financial adviser market.

EGM Advice Solutions David Carter will take on the role of EGM Direct Distribution, leading the strategy to target sales through Suncorp Group brands.

Suncorp Life CEO Geoff Summerhayes says the appointments will help to “unlock the value” of the business and will take effect immediately.

“My executive team now has two focused distribution roles, which certainly increases the focus on the customer and on distribution,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
