Steadfast may make NZ conference an annual fixture
Steadfast is considering holding an annual conference in New Zealand following the success of its inaugural event this month.
About 150 participants including broker principals and staff, company executives and representatives from Steadfast Re and Steadfast Placement Solutions attended.
Steadfast, which holds an annual convention in Australia, added Wellington to the calendar following calls for a separate event with a focus on New Zealand issues and networking opportunities.
“We are currently surveying the network for feedback and early indications are this will become an annual event,” Asia, New Zealand and Direct EGM Allan Reynolds told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
Steadfast CEO Robert Kelly provided an update on the group’s strategic direction, particularly in New Zealand.
Other speakers included Financial Markets Authority working group chairman Angus Dale-Jones and Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand CEO Gary Young.
Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance CEO Prue Willsford presented on education for brokers and DLA Piper partner Crossley Gates discussed contractual liability.
The overall theme of the conference at the Grand Mercure was “stronger together”.
