Steadfast delegates dig deep to help traumatised children
Steadfast brokers raised $226,000 for NSW charity KidsXpress last Tuesday at the group’s gala dinner in Sydney.
Each year the Steadfast Convention chooses a charity to support in its host state.
KidsXpress helps children recover from trauma using music, art, drama and play in a group-therapy model. It supports more than 300 families a year.
Steadfast MD Robert Kelly, a director of the charity, told insuranceNEWS.com.au brokers’ generosity will help the program reach more families.
“What was really exciting for me was how many individuals donated $50, $100 and $200,” he said.
Conference organiser Greg Stewart told insuranceNEWS.com.au the dinner for 1600 was one of “the biggest we’ve ever had. The brokers got right behind [the charity]. It wasn’t about winning the raffle, but about raising money.”
