The best and brightest student brokers in Steadfast companies were honoured at the group’s annual convention in Melbourne last week.

The winners of this year’s Young Insurance Professional and Outstanding Achievement Awards are:

• Steadfast-ANZIIF young insurance professional scholarship: Rachael Smeed (Phoenix Insurance Brokers)
• Insurance law and regulation for brokers: Belinda Kelly and Philip Geldard (both Insurance Marketing Group of Australia – Mediprotect)
• Providing customer advice: Rachael Smeed (Phoenix Insurance Brokers)
• Risk assessment, management: Patrick Gallivan (Gallivan Magee & Associates)
• Claims handling for insurance brokers: Taylor Burstow (Willis Australia)
• Insurance products: Patrick Gallivan (Gallivan Magee & Associates)
• Managing insurance broking operations: Rhys Thomas (Insurance Marketing Group of Australia – Mediprotect.

The awards, run by Steadfast and the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF), recognise the highest grades in ANZIIF broking modules. 

Winners receive free enrolment in a broking module and free travel and accommodation at the Steadfast convention. Young insurance professional winner Ms Smeed also receives free enrolment for the remainder of the broking course.
