Sports star and top cop among RIMS forum speakers
InterRisk MD Phil Kearns will lead a session called “From Scrummaging to Broking” at this year’s Risk Forum Australasia, hosted by the Risk and Insurance Management Society.
Mr Kearns, who played rugby for the Wallabies in 67 test matches, including 10 as captain, was also a member of World Cup-winning teams in 1991 and 1999.
Other speakers at the two-day event include Scentre Group Director of Security John Yates, who moved into the corporate world after retiring from Scotland Yard in 2011.
The former senior police officer will discuss organisations and models for moving from simple risk reduction to a forward-thinking approach.
The forum will begin with updates on the insurance market and top risks from XL Catlin Country Head Robin Johnson, JLT Australia and New Zealand CEO Leo Demer and Chubb Country President John French.
Other topics will include developing and articulating risk appetite, the nexus between risk and strategy, global insurance programs, cyber risk and the role of predictive analytics.
The event will be held at Crown in Melbourne on August 22-23.
