David Kerwin has joined Sparke Helmore’s specialty lines team in Brisbane as a partner.

He has experience in policy coverage and defending claims across all major insurance lines, particularly directors’ and officers’, management liability and professional indemnity, property and life.

“David is a high-calibre partner with a strong market reputation who will bring a great deal of expertise and leading thinking to the firm,” national practice group leader for specialty lines Malcolm Cameron said. 

“His clients appreciate his technical aptitude and commercial approach, and we are extremely pleased that he has decided to join us.”

Mr Kerwin, formerly of Clyde & Co, acts in class action proceedings and for insureds, defending professional negligence claims against accountants, tax professionals, stockbrokers, financial planners, architects, engineers and other building professionals.  

He also advises on insurer disputes concerning property and liability losses. In life insurance, he advises underwriters on policy responses in total and permanent disability, income protection and general life cover.
