Andrew Shakespeare of Newcastle-based JSA Financial Planning Group has been named this year’s Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) Rising Star. 

AFA CEO Richard Klipin says Mr Shakespeare’s approach to holistic financial advice made him the standout candidate for the award.

“He believes there is always a need for financial advice, irrespective of a person’s age or investment preference,” Mr Klipin said.

“Mr Shakespeare embodies all that this award represents: he is well educated, passionate, leads a thriving business, is a key part of his community and brings balance and vision to his profession.

“He is the future of our profession.”

The award was established in 2005 and recognises new advisers who have excelled in giving advice, business acumen, community and industry service.
