Seventh hell: broker tackles a marathon a day
A Melbourne insurance broker will run seven marathons across seven states in seven days to raise money for children’s charity Bravehearts.
Australian Reliance Divisional Manager Client Services Matthew Kohler will set off on June 27 in Perth.
The 777 challenge will aid Bravehearts’ work to protect children from sexual assault.
“I know the running will take care of itself and the pain and suffering of seven marathons will be over in a week, but I have to remain centred and focused,” Mr Kohler said.
Ironman champion Guy Andrews will mentor all 777 runners, with races in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Hobart, Canberra, Kingscliff and the Gold Coast.
“This event is an incredible opportunity to become a true hero for kids in your community, raising funds and awareness to help prevent a crime that we know is preventable,” Bravehearts founder Hetty Johnston said.
