Zurich has moved to strengthen its technical expertise and market presence in financial lines and property underwriting, making senior appointments in the two divisions.

Industry veteran Bill Hassos joined last week as Technical Specialist. He brings 25 years’ experience in financial lines, gained in regional roles with Allianz, AIG and General Re.

“The Australian financial lines market in particular is going through a period of profound change, and we are fortunate to access someone of Bill’s experience and capabilities,” Zurich Australia and New Zealand Head of Commercial Insurance Giles Crowley said.

Noel Greenslade joins as National Financial Lines Claims Manager, bringing more than two decades of claims and legal experience with organisations including Clyde & Co, AIG, Westpac and Sparke Helmore.

He takes over from Julie Morgan, who has been promoted to Head of Technical Claims, overseeing complex claims across all Zurich’s business lines.

In property, Lewis Wicks has been appointed Senior Underwriter after working for more than 10 years in the Australian and UK insurance markets. Mr Wicks moves from Chubb, where he spent the past three years as a property underwriter.
