Senior executive leaves Cerno

Cerno’s national technical adjusting leader Andrew Thomas has left the loss adjuster to become Head of Construction and Executive Adjuster at rival company Cunningham Lindsey.

Former civil engineer Mr Thomas told insuranceNEWS.com.au his focus will be on property and casualty major losses, with a focus on construction.

Cerno, which is integrating with claims services group Stream, was told by its auditor last year it faced an uncertain future following a $4.23 million loss last financial year and a $7.17 million deficit the previous year.

But Mr Thomas, who spent almost 12 years with the company, says this did not contribute to his decision to leave.

“I was made an offer I couldn’t refuse. It is a new opportunity. But loss adjusting is a small industry; I walked in on my first day and knew pretty much everybody.”
