Sedgwick senior loss adjuster Nick Tay has been awarded the Carey Bird Scholarship.

Sydney-based Mr Tay, who specialises in construction and engineering, was presented the award at the Asian Claims Convention in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month. He selected attendance at the convention, including airfares and accommodation, as part of his prize.

The annual scholarship was established in 2013 in honour of Carey Bird, an Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters member who was killed in the Christchurch earthquake in February 2011.
