Rugby star converts to underwriting
Former Wallabies player Benn Robinson has joined SLE Worldwide, the same insurer that handled his career-ending injury claim earlier this year.
Mr Robinson played 151 games as a forward for the NSW Waratahs and 72 Tests for Australia before he was forced to retire in June with a serious eye injury.
Sports and leisure specialist SLE has a career-ending injury program for Australian Rugby Union players, developed in consultation with the players’ union.
Mr Robinson will work as an underwriter across the three agencies in the SLE Group: SLE Worldwide Australia, Pacific Underwriting Corporation and Mobius Underwriting Australasia.
“Benn has demonstrated strength, discipline and commitment on the playing field that will translate well into insurance underwriting, and I am confident he’ll be an asset to our SLE Group team,” SLE Group MD Brad French said.
