Rothbury names new tech chief

New Zealand’s Rothbury Insurance Brokers has appointed Shane Ohlin to the new position of chief information officer, responsible for delivering IT services.

The change comes after EGM digital transformation Sheila Redelinghuys, who joined Rothbury in 2004, departed the brokerage.

“We decided to combine all our IT functions under a new CIO role,” MD Roger Abel said. “As we welcome a new addition to our executive leadership team, I want to acknowledge and thank Sheila for her outstanding contribution to Rothbury.”

Auckland-based Mr Ohlin has more than 25 years’ experience in IT, having held senior management and consulting roles in New Zealand and Australia.

He was formerly AIA New Zealand chief technology officer and spent almost nine years at Spark New Zealand, finishing as CIO of retail.
