Risk Frontiers webinars to examine climate impacts
A Risk Frontiers webinar series will begin on Wednesday with a focus on science and decision-making in a warming world.
In the first session Professor Andy Pitman, from the UNSW Climate Change Research Centre, will discuss implications for Australia from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Sixth Assessment Report.
Next week Risk Frontiers MD Ryan Crompton will look at the physical climate risk of not meeting the Paris 1.5-degree target in Australia.
The final webinar on October 27, evaluating the role of building codes in increasing resilience to tropical cyclone impacts will feature Risk Frontiers Principal Risk Scientist Valentina Koschatzky and James Cook University Cyclone Testing Station Chief Engineer David Henderson.
