RIMS set for Melbourne risk forum

The Risk and Insurance Management Society’s (RIMS) Australasian chapter will hold its first event in Melbourne next week.

Trend-spotter and futurist Tim Longhurst will be the keynote speaker at the RIMS Risk Forum, examining how organisations will manage new and emerging threats.

RIMS President John Phelps will discuss managing risk through strategy planning and execution. Other speakers include Zurich Proposition Manager Daniel Radulovic and Swiss Re Head of Global Onshore Energy Division Stanley Cochran.

Colin Knox, President of the recently formed Australasian chapter, told insuranceNEWS.com.au the event will be the first of many.

“The risk forum in Melbourne will serve as our launching of RIMS in Australasia, and this will be followed by other events and the launching of educational and other services as these are readied to meet the Australasian market requirements.

“We are looking to provide an opportunity at this forum for risk and insurance managers to experience the strong professional development capabilities of RIMS and to hear a little about RIMS and our plans for the future in Australasia.

“Risk managers, insurance managers and others who are engaged in the management of risks for corporations, government and non-profit organisations are welcome to attend, along with people who provide services to risk and insurance managers.”

The forum will be held on December 5 at the Intercontinental Melbourne The Rialto Hotel. For more information click here.
