‘Renewed’ Peter Corrigan award entries open
Entries are open for the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance’s (ANZIIF) reinstated Peter Corrigan award.
ANZIIF last year suspended the Peter Corrigan International Exchange Award for a “renewal and refresh program” and has now retitled it the Peter Corrigan International Scholarship.
The prize will support an insurance professional to attend an international conference or seminar program that provides an industry or leadership development opportunity. The award previously funded study tours.
The scholarship, sponsored by actuarial firm Finity, is open to insurance professionals with at least five years’ experience and ANZIIF membership. It was previously restricted to professionals aged up to 35.
Applicants submit a 2500-word essay and supporting documentation.
The prize of up to $10,000 will be awarded every two years. In the past it was awarded annually to two insurance professionals and worth $5000 to each.
“We are particularly excited by the enhancements we have made this year to the structure of the competition and to the prize for the winner,” Finity GM and judging panel member David Sandoe said.
The award is organised in memory of Peter Corrigan, a highly respected industry executive who died suddenly in 2002 aged 46.
