Registrations pour in for NIBA Convention
National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) CEO Dallas Booth says registrations for next month’s NIBA Convention in Sydney are continuing to show strong interest from brokers and the wider industry.
“I’m expecting it to be a good turnout, because there’s so much going on in the industry and this is an opportunity to really understand the issues and events we’re all dealing with,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
This is Mr Booth’s first NIBA convention since moving into the CEO’s role last month. It will be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on September 17-20.
This year’s convention – NIBA’s 29th – is the second to be held in Sydney in the past three years. Mr Booth is expecting the day registration “flexi-passes” to again be attractive to local companies.
“The special registration concessions for young professionals are another example of the way we open the doors to industry people who might otherwise never get the chance to experience what makes the NIBA Convention such an outstanding industry event,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
He says the mix of high-calibre business and industry speakers, combined with a variety of exhibitors and a stimulating entertainment program, keeps the NIBA Convention at the top of industry events.
This year’s convention will introduce a “speakers’ corner” for exhibitors to tell about their products and new developments, while the popular “brainstorming breakfasts” and extended stream sessions will again be featured this year.
Mr Booth says the program for Monday September 19 will be devoted to thought leadership with industry speakers covering a wide range of topics such as social media and catastrophes.
“On Tuesday we will have a good look at where insurance is heading, with updates on the Christchurch experience,” he said.
