Registrations open for IBANZ conference

After three years dominated by the Canterbury earthquakes and their impact on insurance, New Zealand brokers are looking to the future.

The Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand (IBANZ) conference in August will consider issues such as data storage and recovery, professional indemnity (PI) cover, insurers’ risk selection and pricing for natural disaster risk.

Participants will discuss challenges to be faced in coming years, reasons for the changes and how to explain them to clients, IBANZ CEO Gary Young told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Registrations have now opened for the event in Christchurch.

The key speakers are Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority CEO Roger Sutton, Wynn Williams insurance law specialist Richard Johnstone and Canterbury Employers’ Chamber of Commerce CEO Peter Townsend.

Vero NZ Manager of Business Insurance Michael Dunning, Vero PI Manager Tony Headland and Lumley specialists on professional indemnity will discuss insurer risk selection.
