Real helps more children’s groups

Real Insurance has awarded grants to 10 community groups under its Real Needs program.

The largest sums went to Child Abuse Prevention Service NSW and Healthy Hips WA.

The Child Abuse Prevention Service will spend its $25,000 grant on its volunteer training program, while Healthy Hips WA will receive $20,000 for its hip dysplasia playgroup program, which helps children in hip harnesses, braces or casts.

Real Needs has awarded $415,000 to children’s support since June.

Other awards include $10,000 each for Raising Literacy Australia and Variety The Children’s Charity, and $5000 each for the Bundaberg Riding for the Disabled Association and the Amputees and Families Support Group.

“We’ve had some truly amazing organisations put themselves forward to be granted funding from our Real Needs program,” Richard Enthoven, CEO of parent group Hollard Insurance Company, said.

“As an Australian insurer, we value the communities in which we operate, and being able to give back to these communities across the country is fundamentally important to us.”
