Quill Club targets funds for spinal disease
Melbourne’s Quill Club aims to raise more than $30,000 for the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Association of Australia at its annual charity luncheon next month.
The illness of a member’s child was a deciding factor in the charity of choice this year.
“We support charities that do not have much government funding, and one of our own members has a daughter who has spinal muscular atrophy,” Quill Club Secretary Tony Carmusciano told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
“So we are supporting a charity that has helped one of our own club members.”
The club expects about 450 insurance industry executives to attend the August 12 lunch at Central Pier in Docklands.
The Quill Club, established in 1977, is a networking group for insurance industry professionals.
