This year’s Quill Club charity lunch in Melbourne will raise money for the Neil Sachse Foundation, which supports spinal injury research.

Attendees will hear a speech from Mr Sachse, who became a quadriplegic after a collision while playing football for Footscray in 1975.

The Quill Club is a social and charitable group of insurance professionals. Secretary Tony Carmusciano told insuranceNEWS.com.au former Fitzroy player Kevin O’Keeffe, who collided with Mr Sache, would be part of a discussion compered by AFL legend Kevin Bartlett.

About 350 people are expected to attend the August 7 lunch at the Central Pier Peninsula Room in Melbourne’s Docklands.

The Quill Club has previously supported organisations including Beyondblue, Autism Spectrum Australia, the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Breast Cancer Network Australia.
