Quill Club event raises $18,000

Melbourne’s Quill Club raised more than $18,000 at its annual charity luncheon last week.

The money will be used to support the Neil Sasche Foundation, which works with people suffering spinal cord injuries.

Mr Sasche, who has been a quadriplegic since being injured in a VFL game in 1975, was interviewed during the luncheon by football legend Kevin Bartlett.

Quill Club President Tony Carmusciano says the event attracted more than 350 insurance industry attendees.

“We were delighted with the support we received from the industry,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “It’s great that we could get so many Melbourne insurance people together to support a worthy cause.”

The Quill Club is a networking group for insurance professionals, established in 1977, that supports a different charity each year.

Mr Carmusciano says the club concentrates its fund-raising activities on supporting charities that don’t receive government grants.
