Quantum Underwriting Agencies has appointed David Jones as National Manager for its financial institutions business.

Mr Jones, who has more than 22 years’ experience in insurance and banking, was most recently national manager of financial lines at Talbot Underwriting Australia.

He previously worked with Axis Specialty and Chubb, and held roles in financial markets at Commonwealth Bank, Citigroup and Credit Suisse First Boston.

“Having worked in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and London, David has a proven track record of developing businesses and unique solutions for the Australian financial institutions market,” Quantum Executive Director Neil Sheppard said.

Perth-based Quantum says the appointment will help drive growth in specialty lines.

Mr Jones will be based in the group’s Melbourne office.
