Qld brokers name QBE as top insurer
QBE took the top gong at the Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers (CQIB) awards ceremony last week, with Allianz Australia named as runner-up.
CQIB’s Queensland Day annual celebration and awards attracted about 300 members and guests and was held at the Southbank River Room in Brisbane. The event also served to mark 30 years of service by CQIB to members.
Other prizes presented during the evening included the Claims Service Award, which also went to QBE. CGU picked up the Domestic Insurer Award. UAA won the Underwriting Agency Award.
CQIB Executive Secretary Greg Duncalfe said the annual awards ceremony is held to thank insurers and allied industries for their support, to recognise outstanding contributions and to foster the local industry.
Founded in 1980, CQIB represents more than 60 Queensland firms which place in excess of $500 million in annual premiums from more than 200,000 clients.
