QBE wins ‘most inclusive’ award

QBE has been named the “Most Inclusive Workplace” by this year’s Australian HR Institute (AHRI) Awards.

The award recognises QBE’s efforts in developing a work environment based on respect and fair treatment, enshrining a sense of belonging, and helping employees feel safe to speak up.

The insurer topped finalists including the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), the City of Parramatta council and Viva Energy.

“The win for ‘Most Inclusive Workplace’ reinforces our continuous focus on inclusion of diversity policy and practice,” QBE Group Chief People Officer Amanda Hughes said.

“I’m proud of our work creating an environment where everyone feels they belong, regardless of how they identify themselves.”

QBE was also named as a finalist for Best Attraction, Recruitment & Retention Strategy, which was jointly won by Services Australia and Tassal Operations.

The AHRI’s award also saw AFCA Chief Ombudsman and CEO David Locke named as the winner of the CEO Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Champion of the Year award.
