QBE has extended its sponsorship of Suncorp Super Netball team NSW Swifts for another three years.

The deal will continue the relationship between the insurer and the seven-time national champion, which has been ongoing since 2008.

As a joint principal sponsor, QBE has held logo rights on Swifts team jerseys and naming sponsorship of the club’s annual player of the year award. The insurer has also directed efforts to increase investment in female sports across grassroots and professional levels as part of the deal.

“Our long-term relationship with the Swifts recognises the positive impact this sponsorship has on our community and women’s sport. This reflects our business philosophy of creating and nurturing partnerships and our enduring support for netball and the club,” QBE Australia Pacific CEO Sue Houghton said.

Swifts Head Coach Briony Akle praised QBE for its continued investment in the club and the sport, saying that the insurer has “respected and recognised netball and the Swifts’ place as pioneers when it comes to women in sport”.

“I think it’s fair to say our relationship with QBE is one of the best in not just netball, but sport across NSW and beyond,” Ms Akle said.

“On behalf of the players, and our high-performance and wider Club staff I would like to thank QBE for their continued support and investment, and I look forward to where we’ll go next.”
