QBE veteran Scott Frazer has joined specialist Lloyd’s underwriter Marketform as Head of Claims Australia.

Although he was with QBE for 16 years, most recently as long-tail claims manager overseeing claims across all medical products, he says the move was timely.

“I think it was time,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “It was a fantastic opportunity that I really couldn’t turn down.

“They have a really good culture and they’re doing great things. I wanted to be part of that.”

Mr Frazer will lead a team of five, based in Sydney.

UK-based Marketform is a company of American Financial Group.

Marketform Managing Agency became a Lloyd’s managing agency in 1999. Its CEO John O’Neill says Mr Frazer has developed “considerable experience” managing claims during a 20-year career, with “a particular focus on medical or injury-type claims in both the underwritten and statutory spheres”.

He says Mr Frazer will play a key role in Marketform’s Australian operation “as we continue modernising our overall structure”.

Marketform Australia was established in 2004.

In addition to the medical claims segment, Mr Frazer’s experience at QBE includes professional indemnity and financial institutions claims and underwriting.
