QBE has been recognised for outstanding performance by the Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers (CQIB), receiving two prizes at an awards night in Brisbane.

It won CQIB’s all-rounder of the year award for the second consecutive year, and also took the domestic insurer title.

Allianz Australia was the all-rounder runner-up and won the claims service award. Underwriting Agencies of Australia won the underwriting agency category.

The awards, presented earlier this month, are based on votes from the industry body’s members, which represent more than 60 brokerages across Queensland.

The all-rounder award recognises product range, service levels, claims administration, accounts, communication, price and availability of senior management.

Two personal awards were also presented. The Peter McCarthy CQIB young professional of the year award went to Matt O’Rourke from LEA Insurance brokers, while Lisa Hetherington from Zurich won the Mick Lambert Barker Award for “service above and beyond”.
