The QBE Foundation has pledged $75,000 to charities through its annual Goals for Good event, held at AFL team Sydney’s clash against Fremantle.

The foundation donated $3000 for each of the 14 goals scored by the Swans, who suffered a one-point loss to the Dockers at the weekend. The total was rounded up to $75,000. 

The funds will be split across QBE’s community partners – Save the Children Australia, Stars Foundation, Australian Red Cross, Orange Sky and R U OK? – and the Sydney Swans Foundation.

Last year the QBE Foundation donated $93,000 following the Swans’ 171-point victory over West Coast.

“Our partnership with the Sydney Swans, spanning almost four decades, has given us an amazing opportunity to support the communities and causes that are important to both our organisations,” foundation co-chair Jon Fox said.
