Former Test cricketer Dean Jones will travel from Melbourne to Sydney this month to raise money for multiple sclerosis (MS) sufferers, with support from the QBE Foundation.

Other cricketing greats Allan Border, Ian Botham, Ricky Ponting and Glenn McGrath will join the MS Ashes Trek en route, to host coaching clinics, dinners and corporate golf days.

The trek will start on December 10 and finish at the Sydney Cricket Ground on December 18.

QBE Foundation Chairman Tony MacRae says the $25,000 grant will help more MS sufferers live independent lives “while the search for a cure continues”.
