QBE Foundation hands out more than $500K
The QBE Foundation’s grants program has awarded $520,000 to 14 projects working to address issues such as climate resilience and inclusion.
Recipients ranging from charity groups to community organisers were selected from more than 200 applicants this year. Most will receive a $40,000 boost.
The groups chosen for their climate resilience work are: Positive Change for Marine Life, Murray Darling Wetlands Group, Karrkad-Kanjdji Trust and Carbon Neutral Charitable Fund.
Inclusion project recipients are ARMIA, Ovis, Autism Spectrum Australia and Wallara.
QBE employees also chose several projects to support: Starlight Children’s Foundation, Camp Quality, Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre and Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation.
And the foundation has awarded $20,000 grants to DV Safe Phones and SAFE rehoming.
Foundation co-chair Chris Esson says the program aims to foster “positive change by supporting charities that drive real, lasting impact where it’s needed most.
“These 14 recipients have demonstrated exceptional dedication and innovation in addressing climate issues, advocating for inclusion, and empowering communities. It’s inspiring to witness their impact first-and and to support them in this important work.”
