QBE director recognised in Queen's Birthday Honours

QBE Independent Non-Executive Director Ming Long has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Ms Long, who is also AMP Capital Funds Management Chairman, was made a Member of the Order of Australia for her significant service to the financial and real estate sectors, and to diversity and inclusion.

“It’s very humbling and I’m not sure what I’ve done to deserve such a great honour,” she said on her Twitter account. “I’m also very conscious I have been supported by many who have lent me their shoulder to stand on. I am very grateful.”

She took up her current QBE director role in June last year and also chairs the insurer’s Board Audit Committee, according to her LinkedIn account.

Christine Christian, a former non-executive director at Victorian Managed Insurance Authority, was also recognised for her distinguished service to the financial and investment sectors, and to women in business.
